Change in the way Eagle Palms are awarded

Beginning August 1, 2017 the way eagle palms are awarded will be changing.  When a scout successfully completes his eagle board of review with more than the necessary number of merit badges completed, he will be awarded palms automatically based on the number of excess merit badges completed prior to becoming eagle.  So if he has 26 merit badges, he will receive a bronze palm, if he has 31 merit badges a bronze and gold palm, etc.

Subsequent eagle palms still require three months of active participation and demonstration of leadership for each palm.  The board of review for eagle palms has been eliminated as has the special application form.
