Congratulations to the 56 scouts in Indian Prairie District who achieved the rank of eagle in 2017. Their eagle projects contributed over 9500 service hours to the community. This was a tie for the district’s second highest number of eagles in any calendar year.
These eagle scouts will be honored with the more than 380 eagle scouts in the Three Fires Council Eagle Class of 2017 at the Gathering of Eagles Banquet on February 16, 2018 at the Sheridan Lisle Hotel (formerly the Wyndham.) The 2017 Eagles should have received their invitations. See the Three Fires Council web site for more details if you would like to attend or sponsor an eagle.
Thanks to all the unit leaders, unit committees, merit badge counselors, coaches, parents, fellow scouts and friends who helped these scouts achieve the Eagle rank. Also, a big thank you to the Indian Prairie District Advancement Committee who contributed hundreds of hours assisting and reviewing these candidates: Mark Baker, Jack Koberstine, Bill Marineau, Tim Maurer, Dave Rypka, Julie Rypka, and Vinton Trowbridge.
Reminder: All eagles (whether they plan to attend the Gathering of Eagles or not) should attach a photo of themselves in full uniform as well as a couple photos of their eagle project in email to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com for use at the eagle banquet and possible use in council and district publicity items. Use “Eagle Photos” for the subject and include your name, district (Indian Prairie) and unit number in the body of the email.
